How to Save Web Files to Your Computer

There may be times when you are accessing files over the internet that you would like to keep a local copy. Some examples being:
  • Class syllabi, notes, or readings on MyCampus
  • Receiving instructors electronic written or audio feedback

The process for downloading those files will be different based on which operating system you are running and which internet browser you are using but the general steps below should be helpful:
  1. Navigate to the webpage that has the link you want to download
  2. Right click or Ctrl click on the item and choose the save or download option
    • Windows PC: right click on the link
    • Mac: hold down the Ctrl key and click the link
  3. A screen usually opens to ask you where to save it, place it in a location you know how to get back to
